¿What is C-TPAT?

It is an antiterrorist initiative of the United States Customs that urges the industry to take joint measures in order to avoid that the commercial cargo be contaminated with illegal or non-manifested substances, such as weapons, drugs or explosives.

The main objective is to protect the entire distribution chain, thus preventing international trade movements from serving as a tool for terrorism and illegal trafficking. To obtain this C-TPAT certification the following principles must be met:

✔ Physical security of facilities
✔ Requirements for business associates
✔ Safety and Security for all Panels Vans, Rabones Trucks, and Tractor Trucks
✔ Physical access controls
✔ Personnel security
✔ Process safety
✔ Security of computer technology
✔ Training in security and awareness of threats.
